Summary:
Position is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and management of all volunteer initiatives; Assists in the recruitment and training of volunteers relative to the Shelter and programs; Develops volunteer partnerships throughout the community; Assists with offsite events.
Position reports to the Director for work assignments, direction, and supervision.
Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
Develops, implements, and manages volunteer and outreach programs.
2.
Manages, recruits, and trains volunteers.
3.
Participates and assists in the organization of community outreach events.
4.
Performs a variety of animal care duties including, but not limited to, transporting animals, animal care and cleaning, feeding, socializing, and grooming, etc.
5.
Cultivates and maintains partnerships and collaborations within the community to promote volunteerism, adoption, fostering, healthy pet ownership and the human-animal bond.
6.
Recruit's volunteers for the foster care program for underage animals and those inappropriately housed and cared for in a shelter environment.
7.
Evaluates volunteer programs, community outreach program and foster initiatives.
8.
Coordinates, updates, and maintains current and relevant information on website, Facebook, and other social media outlets to increase the marketing of events and volunteerism efforts.
9.
Performs other duties as instructed and assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements Education High School Diploma or G.
E.
D.
Associates degree in marketing or advertising preferred.
Experience Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in an animal shelter or related field.
And a Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in community outreach or a Non-Profit entity; management of volunteer programs and/or volunteer recruitment Certificate(s) and/or License(s) 1.
Possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license with no more than three (3) points.
